Uganda Water Project
Dear friends,
I would like to thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our Uganda Water project.
Last summer Fr. James Okello Pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Paicho visited our parish and requested our help with water for his parish community. Clean Water is a necessity, and my hope is that your support will greatly help many people in Uganda, to access clean drinking water.
You have very generously contributed to help us achieve this goal. For this I am so grateful. I would like you to know that both your financial support and prayer are helping the people in that remote part of the world. We were able to raise about $21,000 and we top it up with some of the money from our poor box collection to help drill and install 3 wells in three communities totallin $24,000. The survey, drilling, and installation of each well was $8,000.
Among the recipients of the water is a village called Bobi that has close to 9,000 people but has only 4 clean water wells with people trekking up to 4 miles to access them.
Another beneficiary of the water well is a school in Anaka in Olwiyo village called St. Catherine Primary school with a population of 200 students. Olwiyo has a population of about 11,000 people with many people walking many miles too to access the limited clean water points.
A third beneficiary of the water project is Ogom village. This is a village that is not only in a semi-arid area, but it also hosting any refugees from South Sudan.
Friends, this water project is truly a blessing to many. I hope that one day we will be able to have a mission trip to visit those communities.
We continue to thank all of you for your generosity.
May God Bless you always.
